Lead Trainer & Founder, International Service Dog Training Institute
Laura Anderson built her training work around the part most owners care about most: whether the dog actually holds up once real life starts happening. Her background combines hands-on obedience work, service dog preparation, public access training, behavior cases, and the owner transfer process that determines whether training stays useful after the dog goes home.
Her work is centered on practical standards, not performance for show. That means calmer daily life, cleaner public behavior, stronger follow-through, and routines that make the dog easier to handle across home life, public outings, and travel environments.
The training philosophy behind the program is structured, behavior-based, and built around measurable progress. Evaluations are used to determine whether a dog is suitable for the work being requested, what level of structure is actually needed, and what kind of owner support will be required after training.
The training approach used at ISDTI is built around cleaner behavior under pressure. Dogs are worked toward steadier obedience, better neutrality around distractions, more dependable public access behavior, and the kind of daily handling that feels manageable for the owner once the training process is over.
